Inspection Reports

At Isle View we pride ourselves on providing a home from home for our residents with a homely, warm and friendly atmosphere. This is our residents home. We are part of a local community and our Care Manager and staff care deeply for the residents, providing an exceptional quality of care, a high standard of living and showing all residents the respect they deserve.

In addition, we need to meet many other requirements and health and safety standards. We are inspected regularly. We have "Good", "Very Good" and "Excellent" scores and are constantly endeavoring to improve our service.

Service Improvements

The current owners took over at the end of 2010 and are both refurbishing Isle View and focusing on core skills training. New training is coming to Isle View aimed at improving leadership, team work, communication, and core nursing skills in order to further develop our staff. Our aim is to develop our in-house trainers and to provide core training to other care homes.

We have an ageing population and there will be an increase in demand for nursing care and specialised dementia care in future.  Isle View continues to focus on dementia care and Alexandra McLuckie, the owner, is bringing training and involvement from Edinburgh University.

SCSWIS (Social Care and Social Work Improvement Scotland) inspect every aspect of home life regularly. The latest report is available at Isle View Home for you to view and you can also read all our reports here:

Regular health and safety checks are carried out throughout the premises. Risk assessments are carried out on a continuous basis. We have policies in place to ensure the safety and well being of all our residents, and these are available for viewing in Isle View Care Home.

All bedrooms, bathrooms and lounges are fitted with nurse call systems. Fire regulations are strictly adhered to with carpets, furnishings and bed linen all fire retardant. There is a no smoking policy within the home, with designated areas outside for smokers.

Since the current owners took over, a new company, Xact, have been taken on to act as the external competent person for both Health and Safety and Human Relations. They help us to meet requirements and create and meet action plans, allowing our managers to focus on running Isle View.
