About Isle View

Isle View is a purpose built, single storey nursing home located on the outskirts of Aultbea village in the Highlands of Scotland. With panoramic views of Loch Ewe, Aultbea Harbour and beyond, the main lounge is in the heart of the home.

Herons, cormorants and occasional otters visit the duck pond and an abundance of wild life including Sea Eagles, red deer and buzzards are often seen from the bedrooms.

A dining room and a second quiet lounge compliment the living space and provide our residents with an opportunity to watch films, socialise and meet and greet family away from their bedrooms. We would encourage you to look at our Facebook page as well as this website. It is updated regularly with photographs and details of what takes place in the home for our residents.

We offer 24 hour nursing care for up to 25 residents. This includes the option of couples sharing in our twin rooms. Our residents come from the local community and also from across the Highland region and the rest of the UK. Isle View Nursing Home is only 45 minutes from Ullapool and less than an hour and a half from Inverness.

A fully qualified Registered Nurse runs each shift and reports to the registered manager who is also a registered nurse, each day. Each shift is supported by a team of carers and nurses who know our residents' requirements, capabilities and personalities intimately. Our staff are predominantly recruited from the local area and many have grown up in the community and have family members residing at Isle View. Every resident has a plan of care which is individually tailored to their needs and regularly reassessed and evaluated for effectiveness by the nursing staff.

All bedrooms feature an orthopaedic profiling bed, ensuite facilities and nurse call buttons. Residents are encouraged to personalise their own rooms with furniture, pictures and memorabilia. All bedrooms have views of the private gardens, terrace, or across the Loch to the Isle of Ewe.

Resident safety is of paramount importance at Isle View. All bedrooms, bathrooms and lounges are fitted with a nurse call system. All calls are answered promptly and Fire regulations are strictly adhered to.

Our phillosophy of care is: We aim to maximise independence and treat our residents with the respect and dignity they deserve and encourage a lifestyle of their choice. We organise church services (for all denominations), painting and drawing classes, musical events, sing-a-longs and quizzes. We also enjoy during better weather, trips out to places of interest in the local area. Opportunities are always there to enjoy the fresh air. Visitors are welcome at any time.  We always adapt the level and type of our activities to our residents,  who may have very different needs and interests. We employ two activities co-ordinators who plan, organise and deliver social events and a wide range of meaningful activities, tailored to each residents needs and abilities and interests.

We are committed to providing the highest standards of care with "Very Good" overall Care Inspectorate grades including "Excellent" scores. We are regularly inspected and our care reports are available to view on our website. Ongoing training for staff is also a priority at Isle View.
